Somali police in Mogadishu arrested two suspects accused of repeatedly abusing a 13-year-old girl who had been living in their household.
Police named the suspects as Hassan Abdikarim Mohamed and Shukri Ali Hassan, saying they repeatedly beat, injured and intimidated the thirteen-year-old girl.
Investigators said the girl was removed from the house and is receiving care while officers document injuries and gather statements about abuse.
Both suspects remain in custody, and police say they will appear in court once investigators finish gathering evidence and charges are prepared.
Authorities urged residents to report child abuse, saying community cooperation is essential to protect vulnerable children and prevent additional harm across Mogadishu.
