Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has reshuffled his cabinet in an effort to address growing political challenges.
The reshuffle saw the appointment of new deputy ministers, a swap between three ministers, and the dismissal of two others.
This comes amid mounting political pressure, as some lawmakers push for a no-confidence motion against him.
Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi and Abdikadir Mohamed Nur swapped roles, with Abdi now as Defense Minister and Nur as Minister of Ports.
Mahmoud Ahmed Adan (Geesood) was appointed Minister of Commerce and Industry.
Mohamed Farah Nur replaced Fardowsa Osman Igal as Minister of Aviation and Transport.
Mohamed Abdikadir Ali took over as Minister of Youth and Sports, replacing Mohamed Barre Mohamud.
Additionally, eleven new deputy ministers were appointed, leading to some deputies losing their positions, while others retained or switched roles.
