Somali PM calls for action to help flood-hit victims
MOGADISHU- Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire has called for decisive action to help those at risk of humanitarian crisis in Bay region of south western coubtry.
Mr. Khaire has toured the hardest-hit areas on Sarurday and promised government support to end recurrent floods.
He also appealed on United Nations aid agencies to help those affected by the floods in the region.
Thousands of families are living in makeshift camps or in the open and are in dire need of clean water, sanitation, safe shelter, health and food supplies.
Heavy rains and flooding destroyed infrastructure and livelihoods in the Horn of Africa nation.
