Somali PM attends Doha forum

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali premier Hassan Ali Khaire has attended the 2019 Doha Forum that kicked off on Saturday in Qatar’s capital, Doha.

The year’s Doha Forum discussed varied topics including trends and technology, trade and investment, human capital and inequality, security, cyber governance, and defense issues.

Meanwhile, PM Khaire is expected to have meetings with other leaders on the sideline of the forum in Doha.

He will also meet with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Qatar has close ties with Somalia.

Last month, Doha sent humanitarian aid to Somalia after massive floods caused by heavy rains on Shabelle River displaced over one hundred thousands of people in Baladweyne town.

Baladweyne, a town lies some 335km north of Somali capital, Mogadishu.
