Somali MP slams human rights abuses in Mogadishu
MOGADISHU – Somali MP Abdirizak Mohamed has on Tuesday strongly condemned extrajudicial killings, arrest of political opponents and detention of civilians for months in Somali capital Mogadishu.
Hon. Mohamed says he observed a different trend and accused National Intelligence and Security Agency NISA (NISA) forces of being involved in extrajudicial killings in Somali capital.
“We applaud the sacrifice our security forces make in fighting against Shabab. Recently I observed a different trend. NISA is engaged in extrajudicial killings, arrest of political opponents, detention of civilians for months”, he said.
He called on rights groups and Somali Intelligence Agency to launch immediate investigation over human rights abuses in Somali capital Mogadishu.
