Somali MP dies in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU – Somali Member of Parliament has passed away on Saturday night at Madina hospital in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

Khalif Sheikh Abdullahi, also better known as “Durey” from Southwest State constituency in Somalia had been battling an illness and died at Madina hospital, relatives said.

Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and his premier Hassan Ali Kheire have released a statement extending his condolences to the Durey’s family their time of mourning.

“I extend my condolences to the people of Somalia, the Parliament and the family of the late Khalif Sheikh”, president Farmaajo said on his Twitter account.

He says Khalif Sheikh had sacrificed a lot in serving the people of his country.

“May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace,” he added.
