Somali military takes over Ahlu Sunna troops

MOGADISHU – Somali military has taken over Ahlu Sunna group’s troops after a hand-over ceromony was held in Dhusamareb town in central Somalia.

The group handed over its soldiers to the Federal government of Somalia to join Somali National Army (S.N.A.) forces in fightinga against al Shabaab.

The hand-over ceremony was also attended by by Somali PM Hassan Ali Khaire and country’y military chief commanders.

Mr. Khaire says the Ahlu Sunna troops would straightly join S.N.A.

Ahlu Sunna is Somalia-based paramilitary group consisting of moderate Sufis fighting against al Qaeda linked al Shabaab and to prevent strict Sharia and Wahhabism from being imposed.

Somali PM and his delegation have been leading consultative talks with regional leaders of Galmudug a head of upcoming regional presidential elections.
