Somalia:Lawmakers gone back to their constituency to seek re-election

Somali members of parliament have de-escalated the political tension from the capital Mogadishu and went back to the roots to seek re-election.

Led by Prime Minister and Speaker of the national assembly they left the centre of politics for years and started campaign on the ground as per the new electoral laws in the country is concerned.

Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke was welcomed in Garowe days ago and is seeking lower house representative post according to sources.

Also Speaker of national assembly Mohamed Osman Jawari reached Baidoa to seek legislative position.

Internal security minister Abdirizack Mohamed and his federal affairs counterpart Abdirahman Odawa are in Beledweyn and Adado respectively for Member of Parliament position.

The new law by the interim Somali electoral body has forced politicians to go back to their constituents for re-election as the horn of Africa state prepares for one man one vote come 2020.
