The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, met with his Turkish counterpart H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on the sidelines of the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Jerusalem held today in Istanbul.
The two ministers discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations, joint strategic cooperation between the two brotherly countries and the two-state stance on the Palestinian issue and the city of Jerusalem.
Somalia reiterates its clear position that Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine, denounces Israeli aggressions in the Gaza Strip and calls for an international investigation.
