Somali army -You will not be paid till you registered with biometric finger print
Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre said the ongoing biometric registration process of the country’s armed forces would improve the welfare of the significant sector and reduce the mismanagement of Tax payers’ money.
The premier was speaking during an event organised by the Banadir regional administration said “The army salaries is solely by Somali government with any help from USA, EUROPE AND UAE.”
He accused some members of the arm force collecting Tax payer money and working in a hotel as watch men and not going to army barracks.
“We have paid regularly the salaries and allowances of the armed forces members who are registered in our biometric system via their bank account,” the PM said.
Hassan Kheyre warned service members involved in off duty or private security provision to entities such as hotels will not be paid and guarding a wealth family.
“We will not allow soldiers to serve as security guards at hotels or private security as those days are long gone,” the premier said.
Somali prime minister was responding to claims that circulated on the some of the local media in the past days about troops that vacated frontline bases for the lack of salaries.
