Somali army to take revenge for deaths of 2 generals
MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali army chief, Gen. Dahir Aden Elmi says its forces will perfectly retaliate the killing of nine military soldiers.
The army generals were among those who were killed in Thursday’s roadside bomb explosion claimed by Al Shabaab near Somali capital Mogadishu.
The victims were laid to rest on Friday in Mogadishu.
General Elmi says the country’s army forces are preparing a retaliatory action against Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.
“We will target the group’s bases in south and central Somalia over the killing our brave generals and soldiers”, Elmi said.
The group has been waging insurgency for more than ten years in Somalia.
The Al Qaeda inspired group, which once controlled much of Somali capital Mogadishu in 2011 wants to topple the weak-western backed government of Somalia.
