Somalia’s Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has delivered vital medical supplies to military forces in Moqokori, Hiiraan region.
The supplies, delivered under the leadership of SoDMA Chairman Mohamud Moalim, are intended to support both national and local forces fighting Al Shabab militants in the area.
Senior officials, including MPs and regional leaders, received the aid and emphasized its importance in supporting ongoing military operations in Hiiraan.
Moalim also inspected Moqokori’s district hospital, now nearing completion which is expected to improve healthcare access for the local population.
He visited the town’s main water well and met with caretakers to discuss existing community needs and ways to strengthen future support.
Later, he met with National Intelligence Director Abdullahi Sanbaloolshe to coordinate efforts to boost agency support for frontline security operations.
Moalim pledged additional deliveries of medical supplies and food aid to further reinforce both community resilience and military capacity.
“This support is a beacon of hope for our brave forces and the people of Hiiraan. It reminds us we are not forgotten,” Moalim said.
A local official said every medical supply delivered there would mean a lifeline.
“Our soldiers risk everything daily. These supplies give them strength to continue”, he said.
The visit shows SoDMA’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian relief and stabilization efforts in the conflict-affected Hiiraan region.
Local leaders expressed gratitude for SoDMA’s support and called for continued collaboration to promote peace and restore social services.
