MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least six soldiers from General Service Unit (GSU) have been killed in northwest town of Kenya’s Garissa.

Three other soldiers were also injured in roadside explosion hit police vehicle in Liboi, according to Garissa County Commissioner Joshua Chepchieng.

Chepchieng says the victims had been airlifted to Nairobi hospital as one of three injured soldiers was critically condition.

He added that the Kenyan soldiers were on patrol along the Kenyan-Somalia border when their vehicle hit by roadside bomb explosion.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the explosion, but Al Shabaab carried out similar attacks in Kenya’s towns for the past months.
