Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni met a Turkish delegation led by Ambassador Alper Aktaş in Bosaso on Monday.
Talks focused on the seized MV Sea World, a ship carrying cargo Turkey claims as its own. Ankara presented documented ownership evidence.
Following the review of Turkish evidence and an internal investigation, Puntland confirmed it will transfer the MV Sea World and cargo.
The ship, seized off Bareeda’s coast last month, was reportedly carrying weapons and armoured vehicles bound for Mogadishu.
Somalia’s government denounced the seizure as an act of piracy and demanded the vessel’s immediate release, deepening the ongoing political dispute with Puntland.
