Puntland Forces Kill Five ISIS Militants

Puntland army says troops killed five ISIS militants and captured one alive during a raid in Calmiskaad mountains.

Officials said one of the captured fighters is linked to last week’s roadside IED attack that killed Gen. Qalyare in Qandala district.

The Second Battalion of Puntland Defense Forces carried out the operation in Kooraxanle, with security authorities confirming the militants were bomb planters targeting security forces.

Authorities said the operation is ongoing in Kooraxanle and Abal, long-known hideouts for ISIS remnants, as security forces continue clearing the mountainous areas.
