
Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) welcomed Galmudug President, Ahmed Abdi Kaariye Qoorqoor, to discuss humanitarian efforts.
SoDMA Chairman Mohamud Moalim recieved President Qoorqoor, discussing ways to address the ongoing relief crisis.
Moalim briefed him on SoDMA’s activities and the impact of drought and the military offensive against Al-Shabaab militants as well.
The meeting also covered the decline in humanitarian aid as SoDMA still continues carrying out relief efforts to assist drought-affected populations.
President Qoorqoor announced a conference in Gaalkacyo town in Mudug region on the 22nd of this month to discuss solutions to the region’s humanitarian crisis.
During his visit, Qoorqoor toured SoDMA’s departments and met with staff and leadership. He also expressed his gratitude for their efforts in disaster management.
He thanked SoDMA’s team for their work as he noted the importance of federal-regional cooperation in addressing humanitarian needs.
The visit encourages SoDMA to continue crisis response and offers hope for overcoming challenges like drought and security in Somalia.
