President of the Federal Republic of Somalia sign Telecommunication Act into law
Mogadishu, 02 October, 2017; The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has signed the Telecommunication Act.
The signing ceremony was held at the presidential palace and attended by the President of the Upper House of the Federal Government of Somalia Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House of Elders, Abdi Weli Ibrahim Sheikh Muudey, Deputy Prime Minister Hon Mahady Mahmoud Guled, Cabinet Ministers Government, lawmakers, scholars and experts who worked in the preparation of this law.
The Minister of Information and Communications of the Federal Government of Somalia HE Abdi Wali Hassan said that this law is the longest legislative law since since 2005 which shows its importance to the country.
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, praised the various government agencies that worked in this law, saying this positive outcomes was the efforts that are shown by the good cooperation between government agencies.
“It is true that there are many challenges, and we know that the problems of our country can not be solved one night, but everyone seems to be moving forward,” said the President.
The National Communications Act came into effect on the signing of the President as this act was already passed the Cabinet and the two Houses of the Parliament.
