MOGADISHU – Kenyan security agency says four Al-Shabaab militants have been killed in an operation carried out between Lamu and Garissa towns.
The operation is said to be part of ongoing multi-agency security Operation Linda Boni meant to flush out Al-Shabaab militants.
Linda Boni Operation Director Joseph Kanyiri says the Kenyan security forces had killed at least four Al Shabaab militants in Ijara area between Lamu and Garissa counties.
Kanyiri says the forces had also recovered six AK-47 rifles in the operation
Mr Kanyiri said security organs in the area are in hot pursuit of other terrorists believed to have escaped with multiple injuries.
Kenya sent its troops into Somalia late 2011, in a bid to stop kidnappings against aid workers on its soil by the Somalia-based al Qaeda-linked Al-Shabab
