Kenyan forces kill 3 Al Shabaab, capture one in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Kenya Defence Forces have on Thursday killed 3 al-Shabaab militants and captured one another after operation in Somalia.

The operation was conducted in Bura Hache, northern Somalia as Kenyan forces under African Union mission in Somalia have also managed to seize two AK 47 rifles, one SLR rifle, and assorted ammunition.

Kenya is among number of countries contributed troops to African Union mission known as AMISOM in Somalia to continue fighting against al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.

The group has been waging insurgency for more than ten years in Somalia.

The al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab was driven out of Mogadishu in 2011, but still hold large swaths in south and central Somalia.
