Kenya denies debasing Somalia
NAIROBI, Kenya – Kenya has denied to have blocked Somali lawmakers to enter in Nairobi capital while holding country’s diplomatic passports.
Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma denied the claims of three Somali officials to be denied entry in Nairobi.
“You all know that all of us travel with visas. So if you really don’t have a visa it would really be very difficult to enter a country” I don’t have the specifics of the case but I’d be very surprised if anybody was turned away with a visa,” she said.
Three senior Somalia government officials were refused entry at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi for lacking visas.
Minister of Water and Energy Osman Libah and legislators Ilyas Ali Hassan and Zamzam Dahir were among those, who were denied in the entry into Nairobi.
However, Somalia immigration chief says his government was not aware of travel changes by Kenya regarding diplomatic passports.
