Kenyan anti-terrorism police arrested Asho Kassim Hassan, a Somali-origin woman, in Eastleigh for allegedly supporting a terrorist group, authorities said Tuesday.
Detectives from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit recovered her passport and mobile phone, which are now being examined as part of investigations.
Hassan remains in custody pending court proceedings, police said, as authorities continue an intelligence-led operation to disrupt terrorist networks operating in Kenya.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said it is committed to safeguarding the country, ensuring Kenyans can go about daily lives without fear or threat.
