Justice working as Somali Citizen Regains his Residence after it was Illegally Occupied for 20 years

On November 20th 2016, a Somali citizen named Ahmed Abukar Ahmed finally reoccupied his residence in the Shibis district of Banadiir region after it had been illegally occupied for 20 years. The keys to the residence were handed over by the Governor of Banadiir Region/Mayor of Mogadishu in a short ceremony after the SPF evicted the squatters.
Ahmed Abukar Ahmed thanked Banadiir region and the SPF for coming to his aid. A senior SPF officer, Lieutenant Colonel Bishar, commented, ‘The time when criminal elements could take advantage of the vulnerable has passed and the rule of law is returning to the city and the country as a whole.’
