Jubaland authorities say newly trained security forces have been deployed to the Ras Kamboni area of Somalia’s Lower Juba region this week.
Officials say the forces completed advanced training and will support intelligence and security operations in Badhadhe district and surrounding areas going forward.
Jubaland’s intelligence agency says the deployment aims to strengthen counterterrorism efforts against al-Shabab and improve overall regional stability across southern Somalia.
Ras Kamboni is a strategic area that previously saw clashes between Somalia’s federal government and Jubaland regional forces in recent years.
