Killer of head of UAE’s DP World port operation succumbs to his injuries
MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somalia’s Puntland state police have shot and wounded a man whom it suspected to have carried out an assassination of Head of Dubai-owned port operation in Bosaso town.
Paul Anthony Formosa was shot dead by Al Shabaab gunman in Bosaso town earlier on Monday, according to statement released by police in the town.
Police say it had shot and injured Abdullahi Mohamed Ibrahim, who allegedly carried out the assassination of Formosa.
But, Ibrahim succumbed to his injuries at Bosaso hospital despite efforts by doctors to save him.
The al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab claimed the responsibility for the killing through its website.
There was no immediate comment from DP World organization over the claims.
DP world, a Dubai-owned port operation was banned operation in Somalia over violation allegations.
