MOGADISHU, Somalia — Five people were killed and 4 others injured in a raid by foreign and Somali forces on a farm in southern Somalia.
The coalition forces using helicopters conducted an operation in Ma’alinka area, 46km southwest of Somali capital Mogadishu, leaving 5 people dead.
Somali officials said the helicopters dropped the troops in a banana farm, and killed “banana workers” in the operation.
Three men were also taken alive by the coalition forces during the operation, according to local residents.
Somali commandos and foreign forces stepped up ground and air offensives against areas believed to be Al Shabaab hideouts in south of Somalia.
