
AWDHEGLE, Somalia – Foreign forces, thought to b from US especial commandos have launched fresh attacks in towns in southwest of Somalia.
The especial forces, which dropped from helicopters, carried out operations, killing at least two people on suspicion of Al Shabaab fighters, local media reported.
The forces also captured seven people alive and were taken unknown location, according to Radio Shabelle.
Awdhegle, a town held by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group battling the weak-Western backed government of Somalia.
Somali military officials in the area are unavailable to reach on the phone for comments on the latest operations.
Somali army forces, African Union troops backed by US especial commandos have been targeting bases manned by the armed group’s fighters.
