MOGADISHU, Somalia – Foreign diplomats from the international community are expected to pay a visit to Dhusamareb town in central Somalia on Monday, ahead of regional state presidential election.
Representatives from the US, UK, Sweden, Norway, Turkiga, Qatar, Holland, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Germany, Italia, UN and other designators will be travelling into the town.
The visit by the diplomats is said to be boosting the peace process and reconciliation in Galmudug region.
Earlier this month, all stakeholders commended the ongoing dialogue in Galmudug to unify the state, promote stability, and bring parties together for the benefit of its people and the whole of Somalia.
The stakeholders also encouraged to continue these endeavours and to take forward broad-based and inclusive reconciliation, leading to the transparent and fair selection of a new Parliament and President, free from violence.
Somali PM Hassan Ali Khaire and other Federal government officials are also in the town to witness the upcoming elections.
