
By Ahmed Abdi -Jigjiga, Occupied-Ogaden— Ethiopian soldiers killed one civilian and arrested scores of civilians in the South-Eastern towns of Shilabo and Yu’ub in the Dollo Province in occupied Ogaden, according to relatives and eyewitnesses.
“The Ethiopian paramilitary (Liyuu Police) killed Kafi Mohammed Abdulaahi who was one of their detainees after he came out from the prison to beg for food,” said one of his relatives, who asked not to be named.
“Sheikh Abdullahi and Maryam, among others, were taken to the Ethiopian garrison in Yu’ub town,” said a witness.
The reason for their detention is not immediately clear; however, the area which is closed for petroleum corporations, including to Chinese Poly-GCL are engaged in oil and gas exploration without the local peoples’ consent.
