Ethiopia’s new consul to Puntland, Major General Tagesse Lambamo Dimbore, arrived Sunday in Garowe and met regional President Said Deni.
The meeting, attended by Puntland cabinet members and Ethiopian consulate officials, focused on strengthening cooperation in security, trade, and diplomatic relations between the two sides.
President Deni welcomed the consul, expressing Puntland’s readiness for full cooperation to reinforce the long-standing relationship between Puntland and neighboring Ethiopia.
Dimbore thanked Puntland officials for the warm reception and pledged to enhance bilateral collaboration, emphasizing shared interests in stability and development.
Puntland and Ethiopia maintain strong ties rooted in mutual security and economic interests, despite tensions between Puntland and Somalia’s federal government in Mogadishu.
