Eritrea’s President flies to Kenya’s capital Nairobi
MOGADISHU, Somalia– Eritrea’s President Isaias Afwerki will proceed from Somali capital Mogadishu to Nairobi at an invitation of President Uhuru Kenyatta of the Republic o fKenya.
Kenyan and Eritrea’s leaders will discuss on the role of Kenya in the peace and cooperation prevailing in the Horn of Africa and on strengthening trade and investment between Eritrea and Kenya.
The Eritrea’s Foreign Minister Osman Saleh, Presidential Advisor Mr. Yemane Gebreab and Director of the Office of the President, Mr. Amin Hassan are part of the delegation led by President Isaias Afwerki.
The President Afwerki and his delegation have flown from Somali capital Mogadishu after conclusion of a two-day visit by President Isaias Afwerki in Somalia.
The Somali and Eritrea Presidents held bilateral discussions at Villa Somalia and agreed to strengthen the two nations historical relations through further cooperation in all areas of mutual benefit including trade, investment and people to people relations.
President Isaias welcomes and supports the Somali Government’s endeavor in establishing Somali-led security institutions that have the ability to provide the peace and security that the people of Somalia deserve.
The two sides also emphasized that there are many common challenges ahead for which they will seek a common solution. Furthermore, they agreed to consolidate their mutual solidarity and support in addressing challenges that their nations face individually and collectively.
However, Somali and Eritrea’s leaders recognize that peace and stability in Somalia is in the interest of the Somali people and the region as whole.
