Death toll in Mogadishu car bombing rises to 22

A suicide car bomb explosion in the Somali capital on Saturday evening has killed 22 people, including government soldiers,

The blast  occurred at Sayidka intersection at around 7:00pm on Saturday night, near the heavily fortified parliament complex in Mogadishu.

The  bomber drove his explosives-laden vehicle into an army convoy transporting intelligence officers source  said.

Pro-al shabaab media outlets reported at least 17 security force members were killed in the attack, a claim the government denies.

Somali police said only three security personnel were among those died in the car bombing.
