Deadly suicide killed controversial Sufi imam and 15 of his followers in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A suicide bomb explosion followed by gun attack killed at least 10 people in central Somalia.

The attack started with suicide bomb explosion at Islamic shrine in Somalia’s northern city of Galkayo, policeman Yousef Guelleh said.

Guelleh said a prominent Islamic leader and 10 of his followers had been killed after gunmen stormed the preacher’s residence.

He says ten others were aslo injured in the attack.

The bomb and gun assault were claimed by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.
