MOGADISHU, Somalia — A US suspected drone has carried out airstrikes targeting Al Shabaab members in Middle Juba region of southern Somalia.

The strikes were conducted last night in Sakow, Jilib and Salagle towns held by Al Shabaab.

Somali Intelligence sources said several Al Shabaab militants were killed in the bombing.

There was no immediate comment from Al Shabaab.

The air raid comes a day after Somalia and the United States have agreed to intensify security operations to flush out al-Shabab militants in the Horn of Africa nation.
