MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least six people have been shot and killed when heavily armed gunmen opened fire on minivan in central Somalia.
Four children were among the victims after a minivan in which they were traveling in came under ambush attack in Kabtedan of Mahas town, a witness said.
He says most of the victims were from the same family.
He said some other victims, who were injured on board were also taken into hospital.
The attack is said to be relating to a long-standing vendetta in the town.
Somali forces arrived at the crime scene and launched an operation over the attack.
But, no arrests have been made so far.
Somalia has been without an effective central government since the fall of Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991.
