Deadly explosion hits EU vehicle in Somali capital
MOGADISHU — Somali Islamist group has claimed the responsibility for suicide bomb attack on EU armored vehicle carrying Italian soldiers in Somali capital Mogadiishu.
The explosion happened near Ministry Defence headquarters in Somali capital, leaving two people dead, according to Somali police officer, Harun Hussein.
Hussein says the explosion killed two civilians and 4 others injured.
He said no Italian soldier was killed or injured in the bomb attack.
The Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group says it carried out the explosion.
The group did not mention how many soldiers were killed in the blast.
There was no immediate comment from EU mission in Somalia over the bomb attack.
