Deadly bomb and gun attack hit African Union base in Somalia

MOGADISHU – Deadly suicide car bomb explosion followed by gun attack has on Sunday targeted African Union soldiers’ base in Bulo Marer town, some 150km southwest of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

Heavily armed fighters from Al Shabaab stormed into the army base, clashing with African Union troops in the town, a witness, who asked to be anonymous, said.

He says huge explosion and heavy gunfire was ongoing at the AMISOM army camp.

It is too early to say the figure of the casualties.
