Car chase ends in rescue for Sydney police
Sydney police rescued a woman from a car before it sank into the Georges River on Sunday (October 15).
Aerial footage showed police officers swimming towards the car and pulling the woman out just before the car sinks.
Police had responded to a call regarding a domestic depute, a statement by New South Wales (NSW) Police posted on Facebook said, and that the woman involved in the dispute who was driving was possibly “drug-affected”. When the police found the woman, she drove the car off the jetty and into the river.
The rescued driver was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital. One police officer was injured in the rescue, police said.
