MOGADISHU – A roadside bomb killed six Kenyan soldiers and wounded two in Lafey town, Mandera County, along the border with Somalia.
The soldiers were traveling in a Toyota vehicle between Finow and Sheikh Barow when the explosion struck, destroying the convoy’s vehicle.
Al Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, continuing its campaign targeting Kenyan security forces along the border with Somalia.
Lafey town remains a hotspot for militant activity, with Al Shabaab frequently launching cross-border attacks on Kenyan patrols in the region.
Kenyan authorities have not yet issued an official statement over the claims.
