MOGADISHU, Somalia- At least three people have been injured in a bomb explosion at market in Somali capital Mogadishu.

The explosion went off inside Bakara market, the biggest one in the capital, leaving 3 people, including a woman wounded, a witness said.

“He says Somali police arrived at the blast scene and launched an operation over the bomb attack.

He added three suspects were arrested in suspicion of the explosion.“ There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

But, such attacks are often carried out by al Shabaab. Al Shabaab, an al Qaeda linked group, which wants to topple the weak-western backed government of Somalia.

The group also carried out deadly attacks on AU, Somali army bases, with some of those attacks targeted hotels, popular eateries and other public gatherings in the capital of Mogadishu.

The rebel group has been waging insurgency for more than ten years in Somalia.
