AMISOM vehicle runs over bike in Mogadishu
MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least one has been wounded after an African Union mission known as ‘AMISOM’ troop carrier has run over a motorbike in the capital, Mogadishu.
The incident took place near KM5 busy junction in the heart of the capital, where a civilian driver was injured by AU troops’ armored vehicle, a witness said.
He says a mob of angry people barricaded AMISOM vehicle while attempting to leave from the scene of the incident.
Somali police also arrived and blockaded its vehicle to the African Union armored personnel carrier that involved in the accident, he added.
He says the victim was taken into hospital.
The African Union mission has not commented on the incident yet.
This comes as Somali capital has hosted two-consecutive-days of protests against a blockade of the key roads in Mogadishu.
