An airstrike killed 23 Al-Shabaab militants, including several commanders, near Mahaday town in Middle Shabelle region, officials confirmed Sunday.
According to NISA intelligence, the strike targeted militants in El-weyne, who recently gathered to plan attacks, establish bases threatening security across Mahaday district.
A similar operation occurred October 30 in the same area, causing heavy militant losses and significantly disrupting their planning and operations in Middle Shabelle region.
Authorities confirmed no civilians were harmed during Sunday’s strike, emphasizing it successfully hit militants without endangering residents or causing damage to nearby villages, NISA said.
Residents are urged to report any security threats, suspicious activity, or Al-Shabaab presence to NISA using official channels, helping protect communities nationwide.
