MOGADISHU, Somalia \u2013\u00a0 A roadside bomb explosion has targeted government soldiers in northeast of Somali capital Mogadishu. The explosion went off in Balcad town, some 30km northeast of Mogadishu, a witness said. He says the explosion caused deaths and injuries, but declined to comment the exact figure of casualties. The attack comes days after at least four Somali government soldiers sustained injuries in an explosion near Mogadishu. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion. But, the armed group al-Shabaab which is fighting to topple the internationally backed government based in Mogadishu usually claims such attacks. The group was ousted out of the capital of Mogadishu in 2011 in joint offensive carried out by Somali army and African Union troops. The al Qaeda linked group carried out similar attacks in the capital that left dozens for the last couple months. The group has been fighting more than ten years in Somalia.
