65 migrants rescued after boat sinks off Mediterranean
MOGADISHU, Somalia – A German rescue ship, Alan Kurdi carrying 65 migrants has sailed towards Malta.
In a tweet, German humanitarian group Sea-Eye says its rescue ship Alan Kurdi with 65 rescued people on board arrived on Malta.
“We urgently need medical assistance and a safe port for all rescued on board to prevent worse,” Sea Eye said in a tweet.
Last week, a boat with 82 migrants sank off Mediterranean, shortly after departing from Libya.
UN’s IOM says the migrants on boat went missing while rescue mission was ongoing.
