At least 124 young people were arrested during an attempt to travel to countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
The individuals, aged between 18 and 25, were reportedly detained before they could leave Somalia.
Somali Immigration Agency said the move is part of efforts to combat human trafficking and illegal migration.
The agency found clear evidence that these individuals were attempting to leave the country unlawfully.
‘We need to protect the future of our youth and shield them from the dangers of illegal migration,’ the agency said.
They also urged parents to monitor their children’s activities to prevent them from falling prey to migration-related risks.
‘We will keep working to stop illegal migration through educational programs,’ the agency added.”
