Somalia: AU chairman Musa Faki in Somalia under security lockdown

Somalia’s capital Mogadishu is under security lockdown earlier Saturday Morning as Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mohamet arrived Somali capital Mogadishu.

Thousands of Mogadishu residents are forced to walk long distances as private and public vehicles were stopped from using several roads in the city

The roads blocked include Maka al Mukarama, Sayidka, KM4 junction, Zoppe and the Airport Road, industrial road, Wadnaha, 30th road and more others.

AU chairman Musa Faki Mohemat welcomed by Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, AU envoy to Somalia and officials from united nation and federal government of Somalia officials.

Reports from Somalia’s presidential palace said that AU chairman are holding talks with Somalia president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.

They are discussing security and humanitarian issues of Somalia, as drought hit at least 11 regions in Somalia where at least 110 people dead in 48 hours earlier this month.

Somali government had already declared national disaster
