“The friendship between Israel and New Zealand is a very very special one. It begins long before Israel even existed as an independent state. One hundred years ago, actually precisely 100 years ago, New Zealand soldiers helped free the land of Israel from the Ottoman Empire in the First World War. It was the soldiers of New Zealand other ANZAC forces that captured the city of Be’ersheba on the way to get to release Jerusalem. In that battle 31 soldiers lost their lives and we remember their loss even today after 100 years.”

We are a nation of.. a small nation,, a nation of a vast entrepreneurial technology because we need to think smart to get ahead. Israel has always needed to think smart to get ahead to survive. We have been there alongside Israel from the beginning and we will continue to do so. So thank you.”
