Two huge car bomb rock Somali central city Galkacyo. The attack has taken place in Local government headquarters in Somalia’s administered side of Galkayo town in the semi-autonomous Puntland region on Sunday, police said,
The first one was a truck bomb, followed small car filled with explosive material. people has been hurt and 10 killed according to local health workers there in city.
The armed group Al-shabaab fighting against Somali government in Mogadishu, claimed responsibility for the blasts.
The UN mission in Somalia condemned Sunday’s explosions. “Terrorist attacks will not stop 2016 electoral process,” UNSOM said via its Twitter account.
Somalia is scheduled to hold elections later this year.
The attack in Galkayo comes just days after Somali security services captured most wanted al-Shabab commander there by US-trained commandos Danab division and arrested Abdulah al-Sudani and four other suspected fighters.
